Just Think Green: Office Checklist

In light of global climate change, we at Just Think are continuing to make adjustments to reduce our carbon footprint. We’ve researched numerous websites and other resources to find the many ways we can contribute a better world.

Here are some simple things we do in and around the office to be GREEN:

Energy saving: UN-PLUG and TURN OFF
__Turn printers & copiers off or on energy save mode.
__Turn computers off.
__Turn off power strips.
__Unplug chargers.
__Turn lights off or down whenever possible.

Paper use: THINK BEFORE YOU PRINT!
__Print two sided when possible.
__Print only what is necessary.
__Recycle or reuse misprints.
__Use electronic correspondence and filing.

Recycling & Reuse: THINK BEFORE YOU TOSS IT!
__Recycle all paper & cardboard materials.
__Recycle all plastic containers with 1 or 2 on bottom.
__Recycle all cans & glass bottles.
__Reuse bags or containers when possible.
__Reuse packaging materials.

Office purchases: BUY GREEN
__Order in bulk: means less packaging, travel, etc.
__Buy paper with high percentage recycled material.
__Buy products from companies with shared environmental values.

Travel & Commute:
__Bike, walk, scooter, carpool, or ride public transportation.
__Offset carbon emissions by purchasing carbon offsets or opting not to drive other days of the week.
__Before booking hotel reservations, look into room share options rather than hotels.

Spread the word:
__Share lifestyle & habit changes with others: Celebrate achievements and work on weak spots.
__Encourage friends, family, co-workers & even strangers to be good to the Earth and themselves EVERYDAY!
__Contact businesses who do not meet strict environmental standards. Tell them change needs to happen if business is to continue.
