This 194 page curriculum guide for grades 4-8 (easily extended for high school) includes lesson plans and activities that engage students in analyzing, evaluating, and understanding media. Activities help students to:

• deconstruct media messages
• analyze media representations of social issues such as violence, racism, and role models
• produce original and meaningful messages of their own

This teacher’s guide is designed in modular units, making it easy to integrate media literacy activities across disciplines. It is a combination of theory and hands-on projects to equip students with literacy tools vital for the 21st century.

The guide is currently under re-development and soon will be available with expanded resources on new technologies and theories developed since its initial publication.
