It Is Our Time to Stop the Violence and Increase the Peace in Oakland.

The time for change is now, both across the nation and right here in Oakland. Youth and families at local affordable housing developments, such as Lion Creek Crossings, want the sound of children laughing and playing to ring louder than the cries of desperation they know too well. While ending violence in Oakland cannot happen overnight, we want to take the first step as a community in bringing hope, courage and unity at the “Increase the Peace” event on February 27th, from 5-8 p.m. at Roots International Academy and Coliseum College Preparatory Academy in Oakland.
